Wendi's Experience

My name is Wendi Gessner aka Wende Punkt and I am a singer, music producer, visual artist and music educator at the Vienna House of Music. Two studio albums have already been released under the name Wende Punkt, after two years of being a mother, my third album is currently being produced. The entire album is writtend and produced by myself as a “one-woman show”. I am producing a creaky electronic sound I call “Industrial pop” and write about feminist, socio-political and philosophical themes. Melancholic, cheerful, pulsating, fragile and with a large portion of queer feminist revolutionary spirit – longing to reach heart, brain and gets under the skin. Austrian-German lyrics between everyday philosophy and Onomatopoeia, local color and wordplay formulate tirelessly declarations of love for freedom, solidarity, diversity and courage! Definitely not light food, but with nutritional value. Wende Punkt performs live, depending on the event, solo (voice, piano) or as a band.
