About Tallulah Blue Lewis

My name is Tallulah Blue I am 24 and originally from Wales. I sing, songwriter, produce and compose. Most of the work I am involved in is multi-faceted, combining music from an eclectic spectrum mixed with an aspect of authenticity. I love playing with genre-bending and creating musical ‘fusion’. I want to emphasise the importance of engaging with stories, from the heart, the mind and the memory, using imagination and techniques in music, movement and expression as the foundations of authentic portrayal.

Tallulah Blue's Experience

In 2019 I played the lead female character ‘Hawa’ in an original play by Peter Billingham ‘The • My work in Education directly influences the way I devise my creative work, bringing a sensitive aspect, and a need to explore the realm of drama as a tool to teach and guide. • In my self-directed project titled ‘Mother/Mother Earth’, I wanted to emphasise the importance of engaging with stories, from the heart, the mind and the memory, using imagination and techniques of music, movement and expression as the foundations of authentic portrayal. I wanted to present the challenge I have faced as an ‘author’ of autobiography; the challenge of remaining true to your artistic imagination, whilst also commemorating and honouring the past. I have explored approaches to performance that investigate the use of autobiographical material as a catalyst for uncovering layers of my own identity, reinstating self-power and ‘coming- to-terms’ with my past, in an expression which is authentic and deeply organic. I wanted to explore how I could I portray how I felt as a mixed-race woman living with half of me; ‘half-caste’ and cast out from being a full member of either side.
