About Sigrid Anita Haugen

Sigrid Anita Haugen is a Norwegian composer, sound designer and tutor for Film and Visual Media working on various international film and VR projects using virtual as well as live ensembles in a wide range of genres and styles. She has a Masters degree in Scoring for Film and Visual Media at Pulse College – also known as the Windmill Lane Studios where she studied under internationally renowned tutors including Andy Hill who served as vice-president of music production for The Walt Disney Studios (division) and Conrad Pope – Composer and orchestrator for films such as Harry Potter, Star Wars and more. This led her to the opportunities of working for The Human Aspect, London Central Film School, IFTA, Slap TV as well as other independent film and Virtual Reailty productions around the world. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Music Composition for immersive media-music at TU Dublin’s Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Sigrid Anita's Experience

Sigrid Anita Haugen was born in Oslo, Norway, a contemporary trained pianist at the London Centre of Contemporary Music in 2015, where she got her Music Performance and Production Bachelor (Hons) degree, with the tutors Roland Perrin, Mike Drinkwater and Roddy Mathews. Moving to Dublin in 2016, she pursued a Masters (Hons) degree in Scoring for Film and Visual Media at Pulse College – also known as the Windmill Lane Studios, where she studied under internationally renowned tutors including Richard Bellis – Emmy Award winning composer for a miniseries Stephens King’s It, Derek Gleeson – conductor and director of Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, Andy Hill who served as vice-president of music production for The Walt Disney Studios (division) and Conrad Pope – Composer and orchestrator for films such as Harry Potter, Star Wars and more. This led her to the opportunities of composing music for several short-films, video-libraries, Youtube-series, documentaries and VR-experiences internationally. Some of her credits include A sense of Color, a Norwegian based VR-experience exhibited at VR Nordic, in Hamar, Norway 2019; The Human Aspect, a documentary film for The Human Aspect that was premiered at the HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival in Oslo and the UN HQ in New York 2018; Infinite Logic, for the London based independent film director Sam Robinson-Horley 2017; Level 2, that was nominated for the VIFF Vienna Independent Film Festival 2016; Reaper Tales, an LA based youtube TV series for Slap TV 2015. Sigrid Anita is now pursuing a PhD in Music for newer visual media, at TU Dublin’s Conservatory of Music and Drama. With such varied and diverse musical work for visual media, she has also worked with varous music ensembles such as Sofia Metropolitan Orchestra, Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, London Session Strings, RTÉ Contempo String Quartet, Le Voci Choir, and more. She also is teachinging piano, music theory and production in Dublin, London and Oslo. And as a performer, Sigrid Anita has performed classical and jazz repertoires at venues across Oslo and London as both soloist and with ensembles.
