Shelby Morrison, Director of Artists and VIP Relations Rock & Roll Hall of Fame A native of Lubbock, Texas, Shelby Morrison has worked for over 20 years in the music industry with a focus on relationship building, story-telling, exhibits, research, sharing experiences and celebrating rock and roll history. Shelby got her start as a promotions producer for the ACM Corporation and founded a talent management group, StreetLight Productions in Texas. She has served on the Texas Music Alliance Board of Directors, the Music Museum Alliance, the Texas Association of Museums, Ohio Museum Association and the American Association of Museums. Shelby also worked for many years at the Buddy Holly Center where she worked closely with the Buddy Holly estate and worked as a research assistant for the River Music Experience in Davenport, Iowa and the B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, Mississippi. She has also worked as a music research consultant for Becker & Mayer Publishing and was a contributing writer for exhibits, Midwestern State University. She has been a contributing music columnist for HubStuff Magazine and was recently published in the book, Woman Walk the Line: How Country Music Changed Our Lives from University of Texas Press. Shelby holds degrees in fine art, photography and theater and performing arts. She has also extensively studied music history and theory and believes that the cultural preservation and significance of women in music is important part of our history, as a society and culture. Shelby regularly gives talks and presentations about women in music across the country and worked with a team, including artists such as Cyndi Lauper, to create and develop a comprehensive exhibition about the history of women in music, Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power which was featured at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Shelby is currently the Director of Artist & VIP Relations at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
