About Shahar Roda

Hi! I am Shahar, an Israeli in America curating through music and design. I found my love for music when I moved to the United States at 8 years old and learned the English language through endless hours of music discovery. In school at UCSB, I was fortunate to coordinate both concerts and a music festival for her campus working alongside big names in the thick of the music industry. Today I continue to work in the live side of the music industry bringing artists to stages all around the world. However, my passion for music goes beyond the stage. My love for design stems mainly from numerous nights spent with friends analyzing album artwork. Therefore, my design work centers around music and is driven by the idea that music exists both in an auditory and visual sense. Besides my interwoven passions for music and design, I can be found at Echo Lake with a book, digging for new records at Amoeba, or dancing away at Gold Diggers in Los Angeles.

Shahar's Experience

My introduction to the music industry was primarily through AS Program Board where I was fortunate to hold three positions over the course of three years. With volunteers, my job was heavily day-of-show centered which allowed me to learn how to manage stress professionally on the job and maintain ease for the attendees. With both the concerts assistant and special events coordinator positions I was exposed to the booking system and learned how to negotiate with agents, manage an entire team, and oversee all aspects of a live show. These skills translated into CAA by allowing me to understand both the agency and promoter sides of booking a show. CAA was far higher volume and pace and taught me not to crack under pressure and stress. Finally, overseeing marketing and graphics for my shows at AS Program Board truly helped me meet strict design deadlines both at Pilot Magazine and The Color Of Music Collective.
