About Rosie Monday

Born west of Toronto, Canada and raised in the city’s east end, Rosemary Adjoa Marfo would become Rosie Monday, a peaceful, though fiercely artistic presence. Receiving the name Adjoa - her Ghana, west African parents’ cultural appreciation for their ‘Monday-born’ child - she has always embodied the free-spirited and bold energies these namesakes are said to inherit. It’s no surprise she found a voice and outlet in hip hop music creation, a place where she could speak and write as freely as she thought, while walking to the beat of her own drum.
