Biography:
One of the most recognizable characters in modern-day R&B, Patricia Muldrow aka Patricia Mytime has become the most sought after singer/ song-writer in the music industry. Her amazing, soulful voice matched with her unique style of writing and vocal arrangements sets her in a class by herself.
Patricia Mytime was born in Far Rockaway, NY on February 2, 1979 to Johnny & Dianne Muldrow; she is one of 13 brothers and sisters. Patricia grew up in the Beach 40 housing projects of Far Rockaway, NY and attended P.S.106, I.S. 53, Springfield Gardens High School, Berkley College and American Intercontinental University Majoring in Accounting .
Patricia’s roots in gospel run extremely deep. Her father Johnny Muldrow had a recording career in R&B and gospel; singing with B.T Express, “The Brooklyn All-Stars and The Mighty Clouds of Joy” along with his very own Album that made it to the billboards in the 1950’s. As a little girl Patricia always wanted to be a singer just like her father so she started in the church, where her mother (Dianne Muldrow) was also the Elder. At the age of 11yrs old she began writing songs. She then realized that she was able to create her own style of music. Growing up learning and singing courtet music shows in her style of music and even in her soulful voice.
In High school she met her then group members and friends, Lateasha Boone and Darlene Malone. Patricia was the lead singer of the group then called “Dejavu”. That is when her career in music made way for her. At the age of 15yrs old Patricia and her group members were introduced to Harve Pierre (President of Bad Boy Records) where they auditioned as a group for a recording contract. Harve Pierre and Faith Evans took interest in the group and saw something in them that was amazing. As time went on Patricia became the lead vocalist and writer for the group. After their deal with RCA collapsed, Patricia made a decision that she wanted to pursue a solo career. Harve Pierre and Nasheem Myrick supported her decision and managed her career as a solo Artist / Writer at the age of 15yrs old. Patricia then started writing and recording nonstop. Under the management of Harve Pierre and Nasheem Myrick, Patricia became a background singer for Faith Evans and made a special appearance in Notorious B.I.G’s video “Big Poppa”. During this time Patricia obtained so many relationships with the Bad Boy family where she was known as “BABYGIRL” of the camp. At 16yrs old Patricia had notoriety in numerous videos and her first released single featured with Mic Geronimo, song entitled “Master I.C.” She then Co-Wrote & vocal arranged Mic Geronimo’s single “Nothin Move but the Money” Produced by Puffy (Bad Boy).
At 18 yrs old she then landed her first placement as a writer on a platinum group’s album “SWV” song entitled “When you cry I cry” on the “Release some Tension” album.
During that time Patricia & her husband Roland became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Patricia continued to write and record at Bad Boy studios throughout her whole pregnancy. She naturally took time off from the music business to take care of her son.
Soon after Patricia performed at Chaz & Wilsons, The Village Underground and made all new business relationships and built her catalog with several executives, producers and artists like, Carl Thomas, Trey Songz, Hennessey, Chucky Thompson, Midi Mafia, Praz, Will Baker, Tiger, Toni “The Negotiator” Perez, Wardell Malloy, Steve Estevern, Nasheem Myrick, Terrance Laurel, H.O.T., Kevin Canty, Kwamaine, Prince & Machiavelli, Critical and the list goes on and on.
At the age of 23 Patricia became the most sought after background vocalist in the business. She became the background singer for Tweet, Missy Elliot, Eve, Genuine, Charles Perry, Bilal, Gospel singers Natalie Wilson and Byron Cage. She appeared on some of the most popular daytime and late night talk shows such as J Leno, Regis & Kelly, Ricky Lake, 106 & Park (BET), MTV, MTV2, MTV Spring Bling, VHI TEEN AWARDS, BET Awards and has traveled all over the world performing in some of the biggest venues in the country.
At 25, Patricia co-wrote Tweet’s First single ft Missy Elliot and Free (from 106 & Park) entitled “Shook-Up”, “Run” and “Sexual Healing”
Patricia has created an Empire, with writers and several producers working with her. She is the Founder & CEO of Rebirth Sound Ent. Patricia Mytime established Rebirth Sound Ent. to give exposure to unexposed producers and song writers. Patricia’s goal is to bring back true soul, r&b music with the help of some of the most talented writers and producers in the industry.
In 2008 Patricia was hired to work with Radical Media Inc where she has built her portfolio in production and Media working on the Iconoclast projects.
Patricia is currently working on a new venture. She is the Founder & CEO of “Mo Jingle” to target commercials and media.
Patricia is currently working on her new EP entitled “Exposed” along with her documentary “The Rise of Mytime”. Her mix EP is due to be released this spring. She has features with Tweet & Keen Streetz and produced by Daudi The Specialists, and many more. Patricia Mytime is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
