About Morgan Clae

It’s always scary giving the internet pieces of your heart. Though I’ve been a musician all my life, embarking on this new journey of producing music is the next biggest challenge in my life right now. My dad, a classically trained composer and choral director, has impacted my entire world through music. From teaching me simple minuets when I was four to jamming out to Chicago and ABBA in the car with him over the years, he showed me that all music is connected. He would talk through every part of the song with me - the chord progressions, the motifs and cadences, no matter if it was a Bach cantata or “You’re The Inspiration”. He showed me that everything builds on what has come before, and now, I am building on the lessons he and countless other creatives have taught me - sadly, almost all of my teachers have been exclusively male. Being a female producer in a world where men still dominate the industry is an interesting experience. I have been blessed with men who have built me up and encouraged me along the way, however this experience can be alienating and often triggers imposter syndrome for me. I want to create things that matter, cut through the sounds of today, create differently and touch all of your hearts. I am looking for guidance, mentorship and collaboration with my fellow women. I can't wait to meet you!

Morgan's Experience

When I chose to make music seriously, I looked to the greats and musicians whose art inspired me for guidance. I would listen to a specific genre and even a specific song over and over again then would try and make the exact same beat and sounds on my own, down to the very vocal chops. I paired this challenge with also making something that was me everyday for about 8 months. The speed, amount that I know how to do and types of sounds I’m now able to make is a direct result of that dedicated education I did for myself. I’ve just begun releasing my own singles and am looking to learn from women who have gone before me for guidance, inspiration and collaboration.
