MAYA LA MAYA is a Boston-based singer/songwriter. Being of Mayan and Spanish descent, Maya incorporates brown girl magic and self-love into her message that all people are beautiful. Her effervescent performances and introspective lyrics stimulate contemporary audiences. Her divergent approach to music brings kaleidoscopic vibes to intimate settings and envelops her fans with wild and groovy songs that are native to the soul. Maya released her debut music video and single “Know You” on June 1st of 2019. She then released her 14-track album of the same title the next month. With the new traction from her music, Maya signed with the indie label, HRDRV, in September of 2020. Maya began her musical career at a very early age. She learned to play the piano at age 3 from her parents who were both concert pianists. With artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Nora Jones, and Alicia Keys as her inspiration, Maya moved on from classical music in elementary school to composing contemporary pieces and songs in the 6th grade. She studied with songwriters such as Anna Dagmar and Bonnie Hayes throughout high school, then continued her music education at Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, she worked with many young and talented artists and performed all over the world. Maya graduated from Berklee in May 2020 with a dual-degree in Songwriting and Music Business /Management.
