About Lynne Earls

Lynne Earls is a music producer, songwriter and sound engineer based in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to owning her own full production recording studio (EMP Studios in Valley Village) she also produces and engineers regularly at studios across LA including Capitol, The Village, Henson, East West, Paramount, Glenwood Place & The Record Plant. With both old school and modern production and engineering skills, Lynne is a natural hybrid between organic live tracking and modern laptop based production which brings a whole new dimension and range of colors to play with. "I started making beats and programming midi 25 years ago when i was living in the UK and have been blending both organic and electronic music since, which is definitely my favorite thing to do!" Her overall approach to making records is to stay as close to the essence of an idea and not overwork or craft things too much, losing the original magic! “When people are comfortable and they are more in their right brain, free of the inner critic, the better the recording. My job is to create the best environment to facilitate that and help identify when that magic happens so they don’t walk past it!” - Lynne Earls A governor on the board for the LA Chapter of the Recording Academy as well as co-chair of the Producers & Engineers Wing committee, Lynne is an active member in the local community of music creators in LA as well as the UK and Ireland, with a particular focus on supporting young women in the field. A strong working relationships with an great community of world class session players, arrangers, programmers and artists across a various genres, puts her in a unique position to see a project through from start to finish and wear many hats along the way! Through this network and her intimate knowledge of LA’s finest recording spaces as well as her own facility, she is expert in finding the right combination of musicians and studios tailored to the needs and budget of each individual project, and can offer guidance along the way, particularly to up and coming artist who are new to recording making and how to get the best out of there recording experience.
