About Lee Cash Chisholm

Music has always been a focal point in my life. Hailing from the Bay Area, I have grown up participating in and attending live music concerts — from the Greek Theater in Berkeley to the Fillmore in San Francisco — that sparked in me a deep passion and love for music. Throughout middle and high school, I was classically trained in opera and participated in high-caliber musical theatre productions. But after attending USC’s acting school for one semester, I realized that something was missing: it was music, and not acting, that had drawn me so much into the world of theater, and I decided to pivot industries to follow that passion. While I was raised by music lovers, attending university opened my eyes to entirely new worlds and ways of experiencing music. I became obsessed with discovering new artists, going to shows and music festivals, and showing off my undercover finds of the week to friends. Studying abroad in Berlin only emphasized my love for the community and the feeling music can create and made me hungry to become a part of the industry. I would describe my music taste as eclectic. Thanks to my parents' excellent taste, I was introduced to a wide range of artists and genres at an early age. Bowie, Miles Davis, Sly and the Family Stone, and Bossa Nova would play in the kitchen while we cooked together. The Yellow Submarine tattooed on my arm pays homage to nights spent going through and listening to my Dad’s record collection, the Beatles being the main attraction. This foundation in music allowed me to cultivate a style of my own, ranging from funk to alternative to new-age house and everything in between. As a DJ in New York, my talents in music now come from my innate ability to keep a finger on the pulse of emerging artists, pay homage to icons, curate the energy in a room and evoke feelings through sound. Now coming up on two years in the Sync world, I am looking to continue learning the tricks of the trade of being a music supervisor, as well as look into other elements of the music industry, specifically the world of A&R.
