Katy's Experience

I am currently pursuing a double major at Berklee College of Music in Music Business and Performance (Voice). Regarding music business related skills, I was a summer intern at Sony Music Publishing in Business Affairs, the Sampling department. I dove into the world of music publishing by curating Spotify playlists and Excel sheets documenting research and percentages sent company-wide and to the CEO, sent emails chasing splits to other music publishers, learned SMP proprietary catalog and songwriter databases by logging information, and created graphic designs for playlist covers using Canva. I was also recently accepted into the Berklee A&R group where we pitch up and coming artists and new music to industry professionals. Regarding music and singing skills, I sang in the Brooklyn Youth Chorus for about ten years. Through the choir, I recorded, performed and collaborated with groups such as The National and Wye Oak.
