jessica's Experience

I focus on womxn led music projects & workshops for my Master’s work in Integrated Digital Media at NYU’s Engineering school. At NYU I’ve connected the schools of Tisch, Steinhardt and Tandon with a single commonality of womxn led interdisciplinary audio projects. Through Steinhardt I coordinate recording sessions and workshops for the Society of Women in Tech (SWiTCH). At Tisch (ITP) I work with Luisa Pereira on digital musical interfaces. As an performing artist, I was invited to premiere my songs and screen my new music video at the historic Midtown Coffee House Club as the Urbane Conspirators featured artist for Halloween 2019. I wrote, performed, recorded, and co-produced Hex Gurl, an original song which I then released on all streaming platforms. I worked on all pre-production stages of the music video from conception to storyboard to production assistant and finally talent.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is founded in the ethos that when we make more space for each other, when we bring more women into the room, we create a vibrant spirit and ecosystem of mentorship, growth and opportunity -- together. This is a unique event for industry leaders to not only converge and celebrate -- but to share their platforms, their voices, and their strength with one another and with the next generations of women forging the path ahead.

Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', we have asked each honoree to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is envisioned as an annual celebration, creating a platform to elevate and empower women who are shaping the future of music.
