About Heather Howard

Hey Everyone! My name is Heather Howard. I graduated in May 2023 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Industry: Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University. It has been a rewarding few years as I completed several mentorships, internships, and part-time roles gaining experience in content creation, social media management, digital marketing, tour booking, tour marketing, membership recruitment, and event planning. I am currently looking for new opportunities due to a recent company restructuring that resulted in being laid off from my first full-time job. Heather's Experience

Due to my related experience in digital marketing and content creation from working as an intern at Collective Artist Management and a digital marketing temp at CMA Fest and CMA Awards, I am able to excel at team collaboration, leadership, and multitasking. Day-to-day, I was tasked with creating TikToks, Instagram Reels, Email Marketing Campaigns, Press Releases, Artist One-Sheets, and Tour Flyers. Because of this, I expanded my knowledge and use of Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software, which I later used to add value to GRAMMY U’s student recruitment techniques by helping them draw attention to their mission to help young industry professionals. Additionally, through my position as a digital marketing coordinator at Universal Music Group Nashville, I have fostered the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task on several confidential projects at one time. In this role, some things I was responsible for include internal/external content requests, asset management, overseeing artist websites and social media accounts, analyzing performance trends, brainstorming, creating and managing content for UMGN’s social media accounts, facilitating label/artist giveaways, and analyzing data to meet our growth strategies. Through the exploration of three industry mentorships through the Music Forward Foundation and GRAMMY U, alongside my knowledge and experience in the music industry, I am well-equipped with strong communication and problem-solving skills. These experiences continue to help shape my interpersonal skills and show me different perspectives on how the industry thrives and functions from day to day. This allows me to think outside the box for ways to contribute and add value to the community in which I work by staying up to date with the current digital landscape, social platforms, and best practices. Each one of these experiences has taught me how to stay detail-oriented, focused, motivated, and organized while using time management skills to exceed expectations, prioritize efficiently, and meet all deadlines.
