About Lindsay Powell

Fielded is the moniker of Lindsay Powell, a Brooklyn based singer and producer dissecting pop archetypes. Powell exists in the realm of post-genre, finding empowerment in the vulnerability of her lyrics and the fluency of her production. The progressive sense of rhythm, electronic arrangement and hip-hop influenced vocals combine to produce bangers and ballads that are both raw and unusual. Powell's songwriting is emotionally poignant, lyrically embodying a timeless exploration of love and loss. Her latest release “Drip Drip" on Deathbomb Arc explores themes of liberation, consent, and forgiveness. She has performed at the Guggenheim Museum, as well as The New Museum, Frieze Art Fair, and Art Basel in collaboration with sound artist Naama Tsabar.

Lindsay's Experience

I have been working as a producer, musician and vocalist for nearly 13 years professionally. I started touring from a young age (sixteen), so the skills I’ve acquired have been learned through experience and first-hand application. I’ve sang and played backup for several bands on tour. Once I moved into making solo electronic music, I honed my skills in the studio and taught myself logic and protools. The skill I am most confident about is vocal production, as I believe that being a vocalist has taught me how to record and arrange my vocals so that both the soul and the pitch are captured perfectly. I have spent a lot of my time as a performer making my own wardrobe, and I would love to apply those skills to other artists. I most recently worked as a songwriter for the first time and found I had a real lyrical gift in the writing room. In 2018, I released an album called ‘Drip Drip’, which I wrote, produced, arranged, performed, engineered and mixed in a year’s time. I learned so much in the process; I feel I’m ready to branch out in my own career as work closely with other artists helping them learn about their own strengths.
