About Dana Childs

Dana Childs is an independent music publisher, co-owner of Spira Records and a seasoned music industry professional. Dana got her start in the music industry at the top two personal management companies of the 1990’s, Gold Mountain Entertainment and Gallin-Morey Associates, where she learned the ropes of artist management before moving over to producer management. She then spent time managing creatives at Next Wave Management and Tsunami Entertainment where she handled a roster of top producers, mix engineers and songwriters before delving deeper into music publishing and performance rights at both SESAC, Inc. and then Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Ms. Childs currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Copyright Conference and is a member of both The Association of Independent Music Publishers and The Recording Academy as well as volunteers for SONA. In her spare time, she advocates for songwriters, music publishers and recording artists through the lobbying of U.S. Congress for better music legislation on behalf of content creators and copyright holders. She sees the world through the lens of sustainability, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion for all.
