About Carolina Lopez Del-Nero

I am a passionate cellist, orchestral and chamber musician. I enjoy making music with all kinds of people, the more out of the box the better! I studied for my Master's in Performance at the Royal College of Music, London. In the last year, I have been a part of the first ever Orchestral Mentorship Scheme at the Royal Opera House, as well as winning an audition which awarded me professional development opportunities with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Bournemouth Symphony. In addition to this, I regularly freelance with London orchestras as well as abroad, with future engagements this year including a chamber recital in the Berlin Philharmonie. I have performed with outstanding talents including Maxim Vengerov, Paavo Jarvi, Martyn Brabbins, Kevin John Edusei, Rafael Payare and Thomas Zehetmair.

Carolina's Experience

I have performed in many world-known venues in London, the UK and Europe – as an orchestral and chamber player. I have mainly done classical and pop/rock music, but am super open to other styles! I have studio experience recording award-winning film music for composers at the Royal College of Music (Micaela Carballo, The House in the Middle of the Sea, Thérence Guillerme), as well as for Netflix. During the COVID outbreak I also extensively recorded myself at home, gave online live recitals, experimented with multi-track mixing and layering as well as collaborating with other players in virtual ensembles. At the RCM, I have performed at every major concert series (Chamber Essentials, Super String Sunday, FestivALL, Catalyst Concert Series), and organised my own chamber and contemporary music concerts externally, as well as internal run throughs and orchestral sessions.
