About Aaliyah Booker

Aaliyah Booker is a violinist and music teacher from the US. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Washington Monument, the National Arts Centre in Canada, Sheldonian Theatre, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, The Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Booker graduated summa cum laude from The Hartt School, University of Hartford in 2019. That year, Booker was awarded the John G. Martin Scholarship in recognition of her musical and academic achievement and went on to pursue further study at the University of Oxford. She completed an MPhil in Music Performance with a distinction from Oxford in 2021. Booker worked as a Strings Fellow at The Royal Academy of Music for the First Strings Experience and as a Juniors Menuhins Tutor at The Yehudi Menuhin School. She is a participant of the London Symphony Orchestra’s Pathways scheme. Recent highlights have included playing with the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chromatica Orchestra (previously known as the Bath Festival Orchestra), the London Contemporary Orchestra, Nu Civilisation Orchestra, the Chineke! Orchestra and The Novello Orchestra. In addition, she has recorded for film and TV including Saltburn and Netflix’s Queen Charlotte with the Grammy award-winning singer Alicia Keys. Booker plays a Jules Grandjon violin, generously loaned to her from The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain.

Aaliyah's Experience

Since completing my masters (music performance) at the University of Oxford in 2021 I have worked as a Strings Fellow at The Royal Academy of Music and a Junior Menuhins Tutor at The Yehudi Menuhin School. I was a participant of the London Symphony Orchestra Pathways scheme. I am a live and session musician and played at venues all over the world and have recorded for film and television.
