About Audrey Tait
Novasound is the writing and production partnership of Lauren Gilmour and Audrey Tait.
Since scoring our first short film in 2016 - ‘TAM’ (Greenlight Creative, BBC One, IndieFest Film Award, EIFF, FrightFest) - we have produced soundtracks for a number of theatre productions in Scotland. Our most notable achievements include ‘Rapunzel’ (National Theatre of Scotland), ‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’ (Stellar Quines & Imaginate Festival), ‘Closed Doors’ (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Summerhall Lab recipient, HMUK Fusion Fund), ‘The Tin Soldier’ and ‘Miranda and Caliban: The Making Of A Monster’ (Birds Of Paradise Theatre Company), ’Shame’ (Tidy Carnage, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Scottish Arts Club Award).
Between us, we have 2x BA(Hons) Commercial Music Degrees, MSc Sound Design and Audiovisual Practice, an Audio Engineering Society’s HeForShe Bursary, 2x features in the Scottish Album of the Year Shortlist and Longlist and our work as producers has attained commercial radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 3, BBC Rapal and Amazing Radio. We both have significant performing experience playing at an array of festivals (Celtic Connections, T in the Park, Wickerman, TRNSMT, Belladrum, Indiefjord, Transmusicales) and venues (The Royal Albert Hall, SECC, Webster Hall, Cavern Club, o2 ABC, o2 Academy, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut) and have been involved in songwriting workshops and masterclasses with youth groups, universities and prisons in Scotland as well as teaching and mentoring young people through programmes such as Music Plus, University of the West of Scotland, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the UK Theatre School.
As well as our own writing space, Novasound Studio has been established as a commercial recording studio and mastering suite since 2017. Our mission is to create music of an exceptional standard, continue honing our craft as producers and meet the demands of any project we collaborate on.
