Angelina's Experience

I try to give back to the community what was given so generously to me growing up. I would not be who I am today if not for wonderful music teacher, mentors, and scholarship opportunities. I taught public and private school music for over 12 years, opened my own music school that provides high level music education for students and helps music teachers have a professional space to teach to help them earn a descent wage, started a “Beginning Strings” program in an area where they do not offer bowed stringed instruments in the schools, started a professional symphony orchestra to provide paid playing opportunities to professional musicians called the Edwardsville Community Symphony. I established the Edwardsville Community Symphony as a non-profit and it is the only paid professional symphony orchestra in Southern Illinois and I am one of two female professional/community orchestra conductors in the state of Illinois.
