About Allison Balanc

Allison Balanc is a D.C. based Neo-Soul singer, songwriter, certified vocal coach, educator, producer and entrepreneur. Creating music has always played a major role in her self-expression. A GRAMMYs Recording Academy member and New York Vocal Coaching Academy alum, she believes music is what she was put on this earth to cultivate and share. In 2007, Allison was signed to the Grammy award-winning label Compound Entertainment; after winning "Neyo's Talent Search". Then again in 2012, the songstress caught the ear of entertainment manager, William "Malachai" Johns. She then won the "Are You the Lipstick Talent Search". Allison is also an 8x Washington Area Music Award nominee including a nomination for the 2021 Washington Area Music Educator Award. Allison released her first EP, Change of Plans, in 2015. She followed up with her second project, Lost and Found, in 2017. Allison performed her first live debut of the project at the W Hotel DC's POV Live concert series. Her performance became the highest grossing in the series and her company, Allison Balanc Productions began an ongoing relationship with the venue. Since then she has performed at countless venues; highlights include performing for Grammy Award winner Anthony Hamilton’s book signing during the Congressional Black Caucus Week 2019 and her largest audience being 1000+ guests for the 100th anniversary of The District Cup in 2021. Allison Balanc Productions has expanded in its offerings; providing creative direction, vocal session work, vocal coaching, songwriting and production prompting Allison to leave her corporate career for good in 2020. In March 2022, she launched her latest business venture, Driven Women Collective; an all female songwriting collective and publishing company. DWC provides songwriting workshops and placement procurement for female and female-identifying songwriters. Allison also teaches voice and songwriting classes serving underprivileged youth, working with various non-profit organizations such as Project Create, The Musicianship and Jubilee Housing. Allison’s latest work is composition for a performance art collaboration, Cenote Rising with London-based artist, Foxy Azucar (https://www.mariajoranko.com/cenote-rising); debuted in 2022. Prior to that, Allison created a series of songs, #SocialDistanceBae; released amidst the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020. Stemming from this series, Allison collaborated with famous Baduist, Durand Bernarr and released a remix of her song, “Friendzone” in October 2020, garnering significant traction via Spotify. The song was also featured on Ghostface Killer’s “Shotguns” April 2021 mixtape. She continues to focus on expanding her craft through multiple collaborations with various music and installation artists. She is flexing her production muscles further on a new album; set to release in 2022. Allison believes we evolve the most through collaboration and as artists we are never done learning, expanding and growing. Allison believes that there is no deeper gratitude than showing up as your fully authentic self and walking in the purpose you were created for. She is steadfast in her knowing that her purpose is to create art that can be enjoyed by those it resonates with. She strives to use her music to bring joy, nurture, innovate and inspire. It is her belief that music is a divine blessing to the world and that “a thing of beauty is a joy forever”.
