About Alex Carpi

I’ve been writing songs since I was seven years old. I used to write about the way I felt, and the world, but recently I have started making up stories in my head and writing about different things, things that aren’t directly related to me. I find this is a really good exercise for writing, as now I can write a song at any time, not just when I’m feeling stuff.
I made my first “album” when I was 12, complete with a photobook that I made myself. I’m not sure what my goal was with that album, probably to get a big record deal or something.
When I was 17, I started singing in a band, and I co-wrote two of our big songs “Running Back” and “I Don’t Wanna Know” with the lead guitarist, who is also my best friend and producer to this day. I still have a place in my heart for those songs.

I continued writing through highschool and after leaving, it was something that was always constant. While driving, or showering, or basically anywhere that it’s hard for me to grab a pen and paper, I will come up with hooks, riffs, or a line I can’t get out of my head. Then I will develop it into a full song. This could take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few weeks.

I have written over 100 songs since I was 7, and I plan to keep going.
