1021 Creative is seeking a Music Content Specialist who has a high degree of fluency in music artists and record labels across a wide spectrum of genres and eras. In this role, you will use your knowledge, skills, and intuition to support analytical work and research.

What you will be doing:

>Researching, evaluating, correcting, and organizing music information with a team for the purposes of creating a reliable database.

>Meet a weekly quota as determined by the client, as well as working with the project manager and client to improve the project itself.

>Research contextual and historical information about music and compile pertinent information for a digital database.
>Quality control to ensure a database of record accuracy by conducting performance history research and data entry as needed.
>Effectively communicate with the client and Project Manager to ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
>Responsible for factual accuracy as dictated in the provided guidelines.
>Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and ethical communications.
>Provide comprehensive support to identify and acquire obscure or hard-to-find resources relevant to advanced research queries.
>Leverage technology creatively to continually improve processes that support data provision, data quality, data transformation, and long-term data management.
>Staying informed about new developments and trends in the delivery of music and music information.
>Maintains knowledge of emerging digital trends in music.

What we’re looking for:

>A high degree of fluency in music artists and record labels across a wide spectrum of genres and eras. (Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with Classical music but are comfortable working in other genres from pop to hip-hop to jazz).
>A strong knowledge of musical instruments, composition types, and studio personnel roles.
>Ability to review and research a large quantity of work, with a strong attention to detail, while maintaining a consistently high degree of accuracy tapping into an analytical and objective mindset.
>Ability to adapt to changing standards and evolving work-related expectations in a dynamic working environment.
>A high level of comfort working online and in a remote work environment.
>Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects and activities with a high degree of initiative and self-drive.
>Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
>Comfort/experience working in complex content management systems.
>Ability to work with bibliographic records for extended periods of time.
>Knowledge in Mac OS & Google Suite

“Nice to Have” Skills:

These are not required skills, but can be helpful in the role

>Background in the music content industry, preferably label, radio/DJ, journalistic, or sales related
>Education or background in musicology, including music literature and history
>Familiarity with music cataloging, indexing, and bibliographic tools and techniques
>Experience and familiarity in digitizing and organizing music collections in a variety of formats, such as creating and updating information in a digital asset management (DAM) or content management system (CMS).
