She Is The Music PresentsWomen Sharing the Spotlight
On behalf of She Is The Music, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the below women for their extraordinary contributions to the music industry at our inaugural Women Sharing The Spotlight cocktail event.
Women Sharing The Spotlight is founded in the ethos that when we make more space for each other, when we bring more women into the room, we create a vibrant spirit and ecosystem of mentorship, growth and opportunity -- together. This is a unique event for industry leaders to not only converge and celebrate -- but to share their platforms, their voices, and their strength with one another and with the next generations of women forging the path ahead.
The list has been selected by our advisory council as one of 50 exceptional women to be celebrated for your 20+ years of remarkable achievement, contribution and impact in music.
Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', we have asked each honoree to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.
Women Sharing The Spotlight is envisioned as an annual celebration, creating a platform to elevate and empower women who are shaping the future of music.

Hey Val!
Great question, the going rate for studio time changes between the studio equipment available (ie yours or there’s and if your going to record in the space) and what type of service your looking for ( ie. mixing/mastering, producing, recording etc).
It also depends on the experience that the producer has. For example in Canada it can cost anywhere from 5000 to 20000 to take a song (written lyrics, pre-establishes beat and all band members present and pre arranged by you) to a professional recording house (who works with notable top 100 artists on billboard) and have it recorded in their studio and mastered by their sound engineer.
You can also find cheaper arrangements depending on what you’re looking for (ie. just mastering or just recording) but you get what you pay for when you go to the big names. It also depends on what you plan to do with the final product. For ex. If it’s for a demo then your better off recording it and getting a good rough take together but you don’t necessarily need it fully mastered. They just need to know what your capable of and in my experience, will actually want to re-record it with their team anyways before putting it out. But I f you plan to go to radio with that copy then yes I’d spring for the full professional experience.
Otherwise I would suggest just getting yourself a home studio setup (costs max 500 if you already have a computer to run software on) and recording things yourself.
