Salary range: 40k to 60k

What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage all incoming data files from various sources through the collection, cleaning, and then storing of data in a SQL database. Current sources include:
Spotify’s Publishing Analytics (SPA) portal
Kobalt Music Publishing portal
Universal’s Music Labels portal
Various 3rd-party royalty reporting systems
• Constantly research new potential sources of data that can be useful to MPL. Work with Business Intelligence to identify avenues for expansion.
• Develop techniques that allow for the collection of accurate data; monitor input to ensure consistency, quality, and integrity of inputted data.
• Determine, record, and communicate limitations in data reliability and usability.
• Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
• Implement and maintain an efficient data architecture for MPL data assets, and build any necessary integrations between them (AWS, Royalties systems, Microsoft Office 365, etc.).
• Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from data losses.
• Set up and manage access to relevant data systems across MPL teams. Define and implement procedures for data sharing with internal and external end users.
• Assist with reports and data extraction when needed. Research and source new data sets if the relevant information isn’t yet available.
• Assess systems performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.

Requirements and Skills:

• Willingness to learn.
• Understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.).
• Familiarity with modern data architecture, including database and information system technologies.
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Analytical skills (critical thinking, data analysis, research).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points:

• Relevant experience and/or education in the field of data management.
• Understanding of the music publishing industry and music technology space (key players, types of businesses, etc.)
• Experience working with SQL databases and Amazon Web Services.
