Berklee is now accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Faculty Member of Independent Recording and Production. This is a nine-month position with a renewable contract. Initial appointment will start January 1, 2024. Academic rank and compensation commensurate with experience.

Function:
Under the supervision of and reporting to the Chair of Music Production and Engineering Department, this full-time faculty member in Independent Recording and Production will provide instruction in professional DAW-based recording and production practices and techniques, as well as technical audio
engineering and related topics.

Required qualifications:
○ 5 years minimum professional experience as a producer/engineer with national/international credits
○ Mastery of industry-standard in-the-box DAW production methodologies and practices
○ Expertise in technical areas including: audio signal flow, microphone technologies and applications, studio acoustics, professional session protocols, advanced recording, editing and mixing techniques, and DAW workflows
○ Expertise in music production topics including: project management from idea inception to final delivery; diverse aesthetic sensibility; fluency in analysis and discussion of effective arrangement and song form; artist relations; music business experience including developing budgets and interfacing with labels or other financial sponsors
○ Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
○ Proven track record of commitment to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion with respect for people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
○ Ability and willingness to work with a diverse faculty and student body
○ Musical ability and background preferred
○ Teaching experience preferred

The successful candidate will demonstrate mastery of the tools and techniques of music production and engineering through an engaging and compelling live in-studio class presentation.
