A strong advocate for the healing power of music, Valerie founded NYC nonprofit Feel the Music in 2005 to bring music to children who lost a parent on 9/11. Valerie founded Songwriter's Beat, a series for performing songwriters to encourage and support new songs, which she ran for 14 years and continues to offer songwriting workshops free for ASCAP members. Valerie is a voting member of NARAS, a member of NARAS Producers & Engineers wing, and a writer/publisher member of ASCAP and SACEM (France).
