Toni Wortherly is a songwriter, author and educator from Jacksonville, Florida. She has been singing and acting since she was a teenager and writing for over twenty years. In 2005, she wrote a book called, Pray While You're Prey, and then, became a teacher in 2006, following her heart’s calling at the time. Her favorite singers are her dad, Ray Wortherly, and Tramaine Hawkins. She has been influenced by all styles of music, as it is a universal language. Currently, Toni serves as the praise team leader at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida, which allows her to use her music, as well as, music from all genres and generations to inspire the congregation each Sunday. Toni has placed in the Top 5 of the SongwriterUniverse Song of the Month competition with her song, Shadow Of Your Wings. She also had two top ten finalist entries, Don’t You Worry and Worth Dying For in a SongU.com competition, which landed her a song plugging contract with Cole Wright. Don’t You Worry was also a semi-finalist in the Song of the Year contest. Toni’s song, My Victory Is In My Praise, was recently considered for placement on a praise compilation CD. Her song, In The Hallway, received honorable mention in the Frank Brown Songwriting Contest. Toni is a member of Global Songwriters Connection and has attended three FOCUS events, working with peer and professional songwriters. The most important relationship in Toni's life is her relationship with Jesus Christ. Through her original music, Toni finally feels like she is living in the fullness of that relationship and is on the path that God has for her. She hopes to continue to spread the gospel and message of God’s love through her music.
