About Somer Bingham

I’m a self-taught songwriter, musician, producer, and audio engineer who has been recording and producing my own projects in my Brooklyn-based home studio for 10+ years. I recently started mixing and producing other musicians as well. I have extensive experience working in NYC venues as a live sound engineer and I’m well-versed in Pro Tools and Reason. Though songwriting and performing were my first loves, I became passionate about mastering the art of production and being able to take a song from start to finished product on my own. My work has been featured in indie movies, national television, ads, and promos. I love to co-write & collaborate. Check out my work at www.somerbingham.com and on my social media links!

Somer's Experience

I love taking a song from start to finish – writing, producing, and mixing a track – and it’s even better with a collaborator who loves music as much as I do. For the last 10 years, I’ve worked out of my home studio in Brooklyn teaching myself to engineer and produce, crafting dark electro pop and indie rock as a solo artist and in the duo MNR PLSR. In the past year I started working with both local and national musicians to bring their projects to fruition and began collaborating with some incredibly talented cowriters & coproducers to form new projects. In 2019 I was named winner for best collaboration in the Brooklyn Silent Film Fest, in which I composed an original score for a short film and performed it live to a viewing of the film during the festival. My music has been featured on Showtime, TLC, USA, The CW, VICE, and indie films & trailers. This past year I also was honored to compose original music for the feature film Transference: A Bipolar Love Story. My musical influences range from The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and ABBA through 80s pop and dark wave, 90s grunge, and modern mainstream pop by Sia, Billie Eilish, and Selena Gomez. I love the writing team behind “It Ain’t Me” and production powerhouses like Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, and more recently, Finneas. When my soul gravitates a bit darker, it lands more in the vein of acts like Fever Ray or The Kills. The point: I love all kinds of music! Feel free to reach out if you have any projects that need a cowriter, producer, or mixing engineer. I’m super grateful for this site and the ability to connect to other women in music.
