Skylar's Experience

While enrolled in school, I took on extra responsibility and gained hands-on experience by volunteering to help set up mics and sessions for artists coming in to record at Flashpoint’s studio and also signed up for extra workshops learning a bit about guitar and drum tech skills. Since graduation, I have been hired for freelance work as a live sound engineer (my passion), in charge of both monitors and FOH when applicable and have kept expanding my music and audio knowledge in various online non-credit classes and workshops. I am a freelance sound tech for DJ Firm in Chicago setting up PAs and mix boards for weddings and corporate events. I help do monitors in the Showcase Room at Music Garage in Chicago and have worked in several productions as stagehand and FOH/MON through a production company I work freelance for, with clients and gigs such as Mac Duggal, Taste of Roselle festival, and raceway events. I am always looking to further grow and expand my knowledge and learn new skills!
