About SIRMA MUNYAR

– Recorded and edited vocals for Illenium’s career-launching singles, titled “Drop Our Hearts (feat. SIRMA)” and “Drop Our Hearts, Pt. 2 (feat. SIRMA)” with Said The Sky

– I release original music through self-run label under a major label based in Turkey, Avrupa Müzik, which distributes via Believe Music. Since the inception of my solo project, I’ve become a completely DIY artist, not only writing, performing, recording and producing my music, but also mixing and mastering it.

– As the author and host of the Modern Pop Vocal Production Course at Soundfly, I’ve written, created and edited the entire content for this 6-week-long interactive educational experience. I appear in nearly all the course videos, which contain interviews, tutorials, tips and song breakdowns, describing my creative process as an artist and producer.

– I’m a pro Soundfly mentor with 1.5 years of experience educating students who are focused on music production, harmony, songwriting, arranging and most recently, music business.

– I’m a published music writer with bylines at LANDR and the Flypaper. Some of my notable articles include:

– I was handpicked by Pepsi to represent Turkey in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Theme Song, “Oh Africa”, with Akon, Keri Hilson and the Soweto Gospel Choir. After placing 3rd at a prestigious jazz singing competition in my hometown of Istanbul as a teenager, I was selected by Pepsi to represent Turkey in the Pepsi World Choir for “Oh Africa”. The song and the music video debuted globally at the 52nd Grammy Awards on January 31, 2010, released by Interscope/Universal. I’ve recorded vocals for the project Record Plant Recording Studios in Los Angeles, and appeared in the music video as well, which was directed by Gil Green.

– As a jingle singer, I’ve worked closely with agencies and production houses such as Deviant Ventures (based in New York) and Elec-Trip Jingles (based in Istanbul), and secured nearly 15 ad placements throughout my career.

– I’ve received my Bachelor of Arts degree at Berklee College of Music, where I majored in Contemporary Writing & Production.

– I’m fluent in English and Turkish.

– I use Logic Pro X on a daily basis, and I occasionally work in Ableton Live 10 as well.

– I also have some experience working in visual arts: I’m relatively comfortable working with programs including Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro 2020, DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Photoshop 2020.
