About Shelia Bolar
I am an African American female music artist, songwriter/composer, musician, producer, arranger, literary artist, novelist, screenplay, prose verse and short story writer, poet, aspiring fashion and textile surface print design and visual artist, music publisher, computer programmer, IT professional, U S Air Force veteran, non-paid advocate and lobbyist before both Houses of the United States Congress on behalf of veterans of color and female veterans, as well as a public speaker, among other things. I have written roughly three hundred (300) songs of various music genres. One of those songs - "I'll Be There," which I created and composed the melody, first verse, first B-section and the vamp (the second verse and second B-section was written by famed producer, songwriter, composer and recording artist Gary Haase) - was later recorded and released by actor and recording artist, Billy Porter. I am also a former New York University undergrad, having majored in English and American Literature (with a concentration in creative writing) and minored in Computer Science. I have performed at a number of major events, over my lifetime, which were well-received. It is my desire, nonetheless, by joining She Is The Music, to connect and network with other music creatives and industry professionals, to move my artistic endeavors (hopefully VERY SOON) to the next level, including but not limited to landing a publishing deal with a major label, securing funding to release a first full-fledged music album (not later than the end of March 2021) and to begin touring, shortly thereafter, COVID-19 Pandemic considered.
