About Ms Larayne

Aaliyah, Kelly Rowland, Lauryn Hill and Mary J. Blige had a love child and her name is Larayne. Larayne is a Jersey bred singer, songwriter and producer whose original music is an eclectic mix of Pop, R&B/Soul, and Hip Hop. Larayne has been singing for as long as she discovered that she had vocal chords. One of the first songs that she learned to sing at the age of six was “Psalm 34” by Shirley Caesar to pay tribute to her grandmother that passed away. The soulful love child took every opportunity to sing in church and around the house. Larayne was unable to sing in the school choir or participate in school plays so she constantly looked for other avenues to let her talent shine. In addition to using every platform she could to enhance her singing skills Larayne took every opportunity to scribble some lyrics down here and there. Her writing talent was enhanced one day when one Christmas her big sis gave her “The Shining” album from J. Dilla. Larayne wrote her own version of “Won’t Do” while her sister rhymed over it and then her cousin took them to get the song recorded. They then had their first performance at The Shrine in Harlem. Since then Larayne has performed with many live bands at venues such as S.O.B.’s, Chelsea Music Hall, Nema’s Boom Boom Room, Drom, Amityville Music Hall and more. In 2014, Larayne curated an Acoustic Soul Cover series that included pop, rap, R&B, and country music on Youtube. August 2018 released “Love & Rayne” her debut EP that is available for download or streaming on iTunes, Tidal, Spotify, Google Play, Soundcloud, Youtube and More! Larayne’s versatile talents cannot be put into a box. Stay tuned as the petite soulstress that’s known for dominating the stage with her positive energy and powerful voice continues to move the world with her music.
