I am a 48 year old musician from Norway. I have been working professionally as a musician since I was 21 years old. I started my career as a cellist in 2 of Norways professional symphony orchestras, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. After 5 years I had left both orchestras to move in with my love , who lived in Oslo. I then became a freelance musician in the classical world, several bands etc. After many years of freelancing as a cellist, I started to explore singing and writing my own songs. This year I am releasing my 4th solo album in the pop genre. I have had A-B and C listings on norwegian national radio (norwegian system that allows you to get heavy rotation on radio if you are listed), and I have written music that has been featured on 2 norwegian cinema movies. Today I am mostly working as a solo artist , alone or with my band, playing small private gigs, events and festivals. The journey from playing mostly classical music to where I mostly play my own chamber-pop has surprisingly showed me that the pop industry is so much more dominated by men , compared to the classical world. That is at least the case in Norway where I have most of my performances. I would love to learn and meet other strong women in the business across the world and I really miss having a strong network. All the people I work with in booking, licencing are men, so far.
