About Leslie Richter

I'm an engineer/producer/educator based out of Nashville. I've been making records here since 1999. I have served as a local Chapter Governor for The Recording Academy and as Co-Chair of the Producer and Engineer wing of the Nashville Chapter. I also teach audio engineering (studio) at Belmont University. I'm a sucker for a good melody with a solid foundation. I'm best at recording and mixing acoustic sources. I especially love vocal and background vocal producing. I'll always keep a take that makes me feel something over a take that's technically perfect but not believable. I have tools to correct pitch but I do not have tools to correct give a shit. I feel strongly that every record should be a reflection of the artist's vision, and I work hard to connect with what that vision looks like. I'm not best at programming. I'm really not best at live sound. I'm also not best at self written bios. Perhaps I'll update this later.
