About Carita Miller

Carita Miller's career in the music business began in her early years and continues to this day when she proudly dons many hats. Carita's career is a testament to her enduring love of music. She is currently self-employed as an Independent Music Supervisor, an A&R Representative for Groove-Ment Records/Blk Night Music, and she also manages a podcast and a number of artists while holding the title of Music Editor at Beautiful Machine Magazine and preparing to lead the music department at Mainstreem Media. She got her start in the business as a child dancer on a Detroit TV show, and she went on to perform on TV, radio, and in commercials. During this period, Carita realized she had a natural knack for spotting musical talent; she was responsible for introducing R&B group H-Town to their first national TV debut on BET. Carita was exposed to the business from a young age as her mother, Montez Miller, worked as a producer at BET. She developed her talents even more working as Lisa Coleman's promotions manager's assistant at Arista Records and as an intern at WJLB, Detroit's premier urban radio station. Carita is the epitome of a traditional role model, juggling her work and her responsibilities as a single mother. Carita is committed to her education, which reflects her desire to become an expert in her field. She holds a degree in video production from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts and is presently enrolled in her second year of a music business program at Berklee College of Music Online, where she is proudly maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Carita has worked as a music supervisor for many movies, such as "Black Strait Blues," "Corruption," and most recently "Justice," where she brought scenes to life and holding down the nickname "The Lady with the Golden Ear." Her understanding of the narrative that each production aims to tell, coupled with her passion for what she does, enables her to select excellent music that elevates the whole experience. Motivated by her love and dedication to her work, Carita often creates innovative productions that connect with viewers, earning her respect in the cutthroat field of music supervision.
