Emily's Experience

Having worked as a professional trumpet player in New Orleans since 2016, I’ve learned how to expand my skills as a musician and make a full time living from it. After working as a sidewoman for a few years I started my own indie band, Smiloh in which I write, produce, sing, and play trumpet. The past 2 years I’ve arranged for many bands including Trumpet Mafia, a 10 piece horn section with rhythm section, which was performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. I’m also a member of the Dee Dee Bridgewater Big Band and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and I regularly work as an improvising artist at the Musicbox Village in New Orleans.
