About Brittany Clarke

I'm a bit of a hippie. I compost and hug trees, and say things like "Oh that's because it was a full moon." I used to be a Pastry Chef in my home town of Toronto, Canada. I'd sing while I worked, rolling melodies into my sweet treats. Then one day I was let go at my job and decided I was going to pursue music full time. That was 2014. I moved to NYC a month later. I've written 79 songs, performed 54 times, cut my hair, and found my voice. This pursuit of what brings me joy is the heartbeat of my music. After participating in ASCAP's Harry Chapin Songwriting Workshop in Nov. 2017, my eyes were opened to the power of co-writing. My single "Dirty" was a product of that workshop and since then I've been seeking out other workshops and song camps to keep working the skill. Trying my hand at production led me to my first placement in The Canadian Songwriting Competition as a Semi-finalist in the R&B Category for my track titled “Reprieve (Acoustic Sessions). My latest single "Tides" tells my story of contrasting light and darkness through the guise of the ocean tides. I collaborated with the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and wrote an article about just that. Have a read here: https://adaa.org/taking-action-raising-awareness/tides I spend most of my time co-writing, watching Logic Pro X Youtube tutorials and meditating on my goals. When I'm not making music you can find me outside the city in a canoe or crying at a live show. In the end, I believe we are more similar than we are different. I try to take care of myself so I can take care of others too. Hugs, Britt My Website: www.brittanyclarkesings.com

Brittany' Experience

My last three singles I co-produced, wrote or co-wrote and released independently. I recognize how demanding this industry has become for artists and songwriters to be able to do it all and without trying to live up to that unrealistic standard I at the very least want to remain in control of my work by not being forced to pay others to help complete it.
