Alexia' Experience

I’ve been singing since I could speak. I grew up singing in the church, my mother and grandmother did as well. Piano lessons, dance classes, performing around the city and watching my mother perform at different events absorbed my life until I left for college. I’ve been exposed to many different genres, artists and avenues for creativity. Unfortunately my motivation to pursue songwriting/singing fell short in college as I was dealing with some of many curveballs life has thrown at me. I graduated, got settled into a career in Communications, but I wasn’t happy. Music was always in me, the flame has never gone out and the words always seemed to flow — whether in my professional life or personal life. So now I write. My background in music, my ability to read music, sing and play the piano are skills I’ve been able to apply to my creative process.
