Senior Audio Technician

Summary:
Our growing design/build acoustics firm specializing in recording studios seeks a reliable, skilled, and enthusiastic Senior Audio Technician to lead the execution of our technical fabrication and installation projects. Extensive knowledge of and experience with recording studios and acoustic environments is required.

We’re looking for someone who can manage a small crew, talk to clients, coordinate details with the home office, and take ownership of their responsibilities. Proven success in an on-site leadership position is a must. Additionally, an adept understanding of a variety of technical tools, audiovisual equipment, wiring materials, wiring processes, job site work, and acoustic environments is required.

The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, a desire to work efficiently in a collaborative and process-oriented atmosphere, a keen eye for detail, outside-the-box problem-solving skills, and an excellent ability to work well with others to lead our tight-knit team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
– Oversee all aspects of installation projects from planning to implementation
– Supervise on-site personnel during installations
– Delegate tasks to other members of the team
– Prioritize on-site tasks
– Own technical installation projects and “see the big picture”
– Interface with clients, designers, project managers, and external project partners
– Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
– Meet project deadlines
– Assemble and wire custom technical systems in our shop
– Assemble and wire custom technical systems on client sites
– Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance
– Run low voltage pre-wiring on client sites that are under construction
– Mount equipment on client sites such as TVs, Speakers, and Projectors
– Assist with the planning and execution of projects
– Deliver tools and materials to job sites
– Maintain organized tool kits
– Occasionally assist with soldering cables that are sold on our e-commerce store during periods of high volume
– Work on various job sites within the greater New York City area, and our fabrication shop in Brooklyn, New York
– Follow wiring schematics, shop drawings, and other plans to meet the needs of projects

Please note: on-site work may occur on unfinished and potentially dirty, light construction sites from time to time

Desired Qualifications:
– At least 4 years of experience working in the field of audiovisual installation and integration
– At least 2 years of experience working with recording studio equipment and software
– Experience with soldering, electronics, and/or making
– Experience terminating network cables (CAT6, RJ45, etc) is not required, but a plus
– Experience running cabling in walls and ceilings is not required, but a plus
– Familiarity and experience with a variety of hand, power, and shop tools.
– Must be able to read technical plans
– Familiarity with Mac OS, mobile operating systems and apps, and technology in general
– Familiarity with project/construction management software
– Familiarity with Google Apps, such as Drive, Sheets, and Docs
– Experience working on light construction sites
– Comfortable working on light construction sites

Job Requirements:
