How we LEAD:

Universal Music is currently seeking to fill the role of A&R for Latin Music in US. Reporting to the General Manager of the label in the US, in this role, the A&R must have a proven record in elaborating strategic repertoire for artists, and a strong understanding of the music in Spanish and the current state in the business. This position will also be responsible also for evaluating and securing new talent to the company´s roster.

How you’ll CREATE:

Will serve as both a strategic and creative position for the A&R team in the US, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with determined goals to be accomplished in a short time period, also serving as a liaison between the artist and label
Will develop an artistic vision to enable the artist evolution and career success by crafting music that impacts wide audiences
The candidate has the capacity of analyzing songs and creating new repertoire for artists, pairing it with creative narratives and concepts that can engage massive audiences
Must have solid relations in the music community and established professional connections with songwriters, producers, publishers, artists, managers, sound engineers, musicians, mixers and studio managers
The candidate must be able to plan budgets and timelines, and coordinate the phases of the music making: pre production, production, mixing and mastering.

Previous experience in the role with understanding and knowledge in Latin Music
Strong communication, persuasive, negotiation and collaboration skills, and analytical thinking, passionate about the music business. Able to work closely with other label departments, such as Marketing, Digital, Commerce, New Business, among others
Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow up on several tasks simultaneously
Must be fluent in Spanish (oral and written)
Extensive networking and established professional connections with songwriters, publishers, producers, mixers, managers, artists and studio owners
Strong communication, persuasive, negotiation and collaboration skills, and analytical thinking, passionate about the music business
Availability to travel several times a month to key cities in the USA

Education:

Ideally Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related digital or music field is preferred.
